Fall Break to Dollywood !

It was brought to our attention this summer, that after I spoke glowingly of old family vacations to Wburg, Cherokee, DC etc., that all of our holidays and vacations are usually spent traveling to distant relatives...and that they (the kids) wanted to do something "fun" like we used to do. No offense intended and we understood what they meant. So for the first time we took our family on a Fall Break "vacation" to Gatlinburg last weekend and had a blast. Throwing apples to black bears behind our log cabin, hitting all of the Ripley's museums and aquarium and a full day at Dollywood made a great weekend- We reccommend the trek to anyone-

Whew..it has been very busy the past couple of months because of work, coaching soccer, camping and Cub Scouts. Sorry to have been inactive in communication lately but I don't think it has ever been this hectic before- seems like everybody is going in opposite directions all of the time ! Anyway, here are a few photos from the last couple of weekends-

Just another Wednesday Night for Lisa....

If anyone was trying to reach Lisa last night but couldn't..... 6:30 ish - she passes out after eating an artichoke heart....falls hard against a porcelain piece of furniture it is believed.......later that night, unbearable pain in her lower leftside of her back with sharp dibilitating pains......Rachel takes her to the hospital after stubborn refusal to call 911 as advised by sister and brother in law who needed 45 minutes to get down to Charlotte......3 hours later, she's enjoying pain killers and a delicious bag of saline solution. Not sure yet what led to the blackout initially but the fall may have bruised a muscle causing the pain. Stay tuned tomorrow for more news but you can see that she was managing pretty well after the pain was controlled.... She'll probably take some of the day off or hopefully all of it tomorrow. A perfect day for College Football

Perfect weather, Clemson rolls to a 54-0 win and the tickets o stubhub were only $7.00 a piece...a good day for football..and the kids learned what a flask was from the guy sitting in front of us!

Mom & Dad's Digital Pictures

I took Mom and Dad's digital cameras up to CVS on Sunday and loaded the pictures to CDs. There were close to 450 of them so I went through and chose the "best of" because well, Mom didn't always take the picture of what she was aiming at and you can only have so many photos of Mom asleep in the chair. You can see the 217 that survived the cut here:

AAAGGHH! Stay off the roads!

Josh got his license 2 weeks ago. He drives Hunter to school (and pretty much anywhere else he wants to go. they have never been better friends!), takes himself to the orthodontist, runs errands for me, whatever! Why can't they start driving earlier. I have so much more time now! Here he is the Beezer Mobile - our "new" '98 Chevy Malibu!

Here are some pics I took at Wrightsville Beach this morning. That's the Weather Channel guy who has been broadcasting from there this week. The other picture shows about 4 different news crews all broadcasting. I got interviewed by a local station while I was down there this morning. And the Weather Channel filmed me sitting on the beach watching the waves. You know how they play that video some while they are recapping, well take a close look. Maybe you will see me. The local thing might be on at noon. The ocean is pretty rough and not too many surfers out. Hunter and Jake are looking forward to a lot of rain so that they can boogie board in our backyard!

Our last day - Carowinds

Didn't take the camera in so I wouldn't have to carry it but this one on my cell phone turned out OK. It's the requisite "standing in both NC AND SC" picture that you have to take when you go.

It was a great weekend! Looking forward to having more nieces & nephews visit if they want to.
